August Photo Header

Description (not mine) for the August Photo Header:

Marines with 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), cross a bridge while on patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The Marines have seen a dramatic change from when they first fought their way into the former Taliban stronghold. Over the past weeks, Marines have begun encouraging local rebuilding efforts and continue patrolling the streets as a show of force. (Official Marine Corps photograph by Cpl. Randall A. Clinton)

The photo is via flickr user peterparkerpiper. He has put up many photos of the 24th MEU in southern Afghanistan, plus some [a] Canadians labeled as US Marines. Small whoops, NBD.

Responses

  1. I was thinking, there are a lot of pics in the flickrfile of civilians cooperating with US forces. May not necessarily be good for their health…

  2. The pics don’t include a Canadian unit. The single Canadian is Major-General Marc Lessard, Commander Regional Command (South). Command of RC (S) is currently shared among Canada, the Netherlands and the UK.
